Winding Mechanism

The winding mechanism is involved in winding the watch and tightening the spring, it extends out from the side and is connected to the crown. This mechanism is involved in winding, whether it is done by hand or is automatic and also connected to the time-setting mechanism.

The stem winding and setting system by the crown was invented by French watchmaker Jean-Adrien Philippe in the early 19th century.
