Sapphire Crystal

A material traditionally used in the watchmaking industry, Sapphire glass is greatly prized for its excellent scratch resistant properties.

It is used to protect the dial from shocks and dust and is fitted in the bezel of a watch, stopwatch or clock.

Sapphire glass is also sometimes used in luxury watches for the rear of the watch case to create an” exhibition back”. This is for viewing the watch’s movement and to appreciate its decorative aspects, its motion and complexity.
