Chronofiable

Chronofiable is both a test method and a machine for assessing the reliability of finished watches. By employing a programme of shocks and climate cycles the machine is able to age a watch up to eight times.

The test includes an assessment of water resistance, shock resistance, resistance to magnetic fields and a general ageing cycle.

The chronofiable reliability test was introduced by the Swiss federation of watch manufacturers in the 1970’s and watches surviving the test are issued with an appropriate certificate.
