“The best things in life come in threes, like friends, dreams and memories …” now we can also add ladies wristwatches to the list – Zenith have a trio of new models to add to their Star 33mm collection; that’s three levels of opulence, three watch genres, and three new choices for their discerning female clientele. In 2012 Zenith introduced a voluptuous cushion-shaped case for their Star collection, marking a departure from the rounded case of previous models. The new case shape re-defined the range, marking it out as highly distinctive, marginally classical and totally elegant.
Zenith Star 33mm – Trio
In recent years almost every watch company has evolved their women’s collections by offering not only designated models designed just for the ladies, but also a wider choice within their portfolios. Zenith are among the handful of watch companies who have always given meritorious attention to their female clients, and each year they provide us with new and tempting models with which to woo new customers and to ensure that established patrons remain faithful to the brand with the emblematic little star. Choice is the key to success for any watch collection aimed at women wearers and with their three new two-handed Star 33mm models, which are available in white or rose gold, Zenith have left nothing to chance.
New Zenith Star 33mm – Three Levels of Opulence
First, the “every day” edition. Girls, this is the watch you can reach for without thought every morning and it is the piece which will see you right through the day from desk to dinner date. It features a mother-of-pearl dial set with 12 brilliant-cut diamonds in place of hour markers. On the inner bezel a further 72 diamonds mark the edge of the dial in style. Too much sparkle for daytime? I think not, after all nothing catches the sunlight quite like a dial rimmed with diamonds and with this one Zenith have got it just right.
Next, something for the evening. On this model, 12 brilliant-cut diamonds mark the hours but in addition to the rim of sparkle at the dial edge, the bezel has also been embellished with diamonds of the same quality.
A further sprinkling of diamonds, 42 in all, are set on to the pin buckle “just because” – it matters not if no-one will see them unless you turn over your wrist, you will know they are there. Finally, the most extravagant and luxuriant of the trio which features a resplendence gained from a total of 765 diamonds, equal to 4.49cts set on the case, bezel, dial and on the pin buckle turning this model into a showcase piece which deserves its rather grandiose title of Gala edition.
These new Zenith Star 33mm models are not merely eye-pleasing beauties. Each exquisite case houses one of Zenith’s Manufacture mechanical movements, the Elite 681 ultra-thin automatic calibre, which packs a power reserve of 50 hours and boasts a stunningly decorated oscillating weight, visible through case back sapphire.
